About Merrie
It's a tool. Done well.
Merrie is a free tool for the people running groups in Philadelphia. Chess clubs, run crews, knitting circles, supper clubs, weeknight trivia hosts. Anyone who puts their evenings into something the rest of us get to show up to.
Meetup got expensive. Eventbrite charges fees. Facebook Groups buries posts in an algorithm. Philly groups deserve a home that's well-made and stays that way. So here it is.
Made in Philly. One person.
Things you might be wondering
What can I do on Merrie?
Make a page for your group. Schedule events. Members RSVP. Email them updates when things change. That's the whole thing.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. No tiers, no upsells, no payment infrastructure anywhere in this product. Free for groups and hosts, free for the people who RSVP.
How does that work?
Your event data joins the Neighborhood Commons, an open data layer that powers Fiber and any other Philly events app. You publish once. The city gets a richer record of itself. You get a tool that's well-made. More on the catch →
Is my subscriber list private?
Yes. Yours alone, exportable to CSV any time. Other groups never see it. Merrie never emails your subscribers. Only you can.
What about my URL?
Permanent. Once you claim merrie.co/your-group, no one else will ever have it.
How does Merrie handle visitor data?
It doesn't. No analytics cookies, no tracking pixels, no behavioral data. Public pages are public in the simplest sense.
How does Merrie decide what to show people?
Chronological order. No algorithm picks favorites.
Is Merrie in cities other than Philadelphia?
Right now, no. The tools work anywhere. The Commons, Fiber, and Browse are Philly-first. Other cities are on the roadmap.
Who built this and how do I reach you?
One person, in Philly. Email [email protected]. Real human, single inbox.
